Writing That Will Tickle Your Senses

And Ignite Your Imagination

Why did you become a writer?

I'm not sure many writers can adequately answer this question and there are probably as many answers as there are writers.

However, I'll give it my best shot...

I write because...

  • If I don't write I'll go insane
  • I love words, adore phrases, studying them deep into the night
  • I've had stories rumbling through my mind my whole life. Imagine my susprise to discover not *everyone* has the pleasure of an internal television set...

On a lesser note, I love the writing lifestyle.

Where do your story ideas come from?

Not a clue. They're just there.

Do you accept story ideas?

Nope. I don't read many queries sent to Filbert Publishing either. If you have a story idea, I suggest you develop and write it yourself.

When it comes time to actually set words to paper, that's when you discover who the true writers are.

This may sound harsh, but wanna-bes talk about writing, read writing books, and study the craft. True writers write.

How do I find out when you're going to be in my area?

Keep your eye on the blog.

I don't get out much, preferring to stick close to my office and tap away at the computer.

But I do get out now and again. Surf to this page to find out if I'm coming to your area. If I am, by all means shoot me an e-mail. I'd love to hook up and have a quick cup of coffee before I head back to the great white north. I always love talking shop with other writers.

What's your e-mail address?

You can contact me at beth(a)bethannerickson.com. Generally speaking I may (or may not) be able to get back to you in a timely manner.

When is your birthday?

11/14.

Will you read my manuscript and critique it?

Nope. Don't even send it. If you want a manuscript considered for publication, surf to the FilbertPublishing.com submissions page and follow their requirements.

Give me the name of a good, reputable agent/publisher.

I talk about this extensively in Writing Etc., the free e-mag for freelance writers. You can check it out at http://FilbertPublishing.com

Can you give me some writing tips?

Again, I suggest you subscribe to Writing Etc. at http://FilbertPublishing.com. You'll receive a free e-book called "Power Queries" when you subscribe and have access to free writing e-courses along with a ton of articles.

Do you teach any seminars or courses?

Yup. You can check out http://3Chix.com as well as my blog.

When's your next book coming out?

I've got two nonfiction titles in the works as well as two fiction titles. Keep an eye on this site to find out when they'll be released. Get more information here as well.

I'm having trouble figuring out the direction I want to go right now. Can you give me some help?

Absolutely. Along with working as a freelance writer, I'm an ordained minister and speak daily with individuals who know they can make a profound positive difference in their corner of the world, but don't know how to refine their goals.

I find that with many very talented individuals, many roads open before them, causing a bit of angst when they realize that although they possess the skills to travel any of those roads, true heart work requires requires unwaivering focus, deep faith, and (sometimes) an objective eye.

My work as a spiritual guide is exceedingly fulfilling for both me and my clients. If you'd like to explore your true calling, just click one of the buttons below. Here are my current rates:

15 minutes for  $30

30 minutes for $50.00
